El intérprete griego
Cuento de la serie del famoso detective Sherlock Holmes en la que se lleva a cabo un secuestro y en donde la participación de un personaje políglota es el eje central, ya que fungirá como intérprete de un hombre de origen griego al que mantienen cautivo. Además del ágil y perspicaz olfato de Sherlock Holmes y del doctor Watson para resolver el misterio, el relato es importante porque Conan Doyle introduce por primera vez a Mycroft Holmes quien, además de ser el hermano mayor de Sherlock, posee una inteligencia superior a él y contribuirá a la resolución del caso.
