Love as Passion

With over 200 years it has been considered that romantic relationships must be spontaneous. This is paradoxical insofar as the imperative form "must" is incompatible with total spontaneity. Niklas Luhmann's book, "Love as Passion. The Codification of Intimacy", deals with this theme and the various differences in the realm of love.
